Do You Find Gardening To Be Relaxing?
Some people claim gardening is therapeutic. Is this true? I’ve never had the opportunity to garden before, but my grandfather has a flower and vegetable garden, and he absolutely loves being outside gardening. As a matter of fact, that’s where he spends the majority of his day. Do those of you that garden, feel the same way?

Need help with a Mother’s day gift! Any good gardening things out there?
My father passed away a couple months ago and I want to get my mom something special. She loves to garden and my dad and her use to share that bond. Is there any new great gardening tools or things out there that you recommend?

How do you go about finding a gardening club to join?
I am pretty new to the world of gardening, and I’d love to join a group where I can learn from fellow gardeners and get together, etc…the only problem is that I haven’t a clue as to how to go about finding such a group. I live in Scranton, PA. I’ve googled it every way I could think of and have come up empty.
Any ideas for me? Thanks.

I’m new to roses and gardening in general.Any tips for pruning?
I live in an apartment, so I am limited to patio gardening. I have minature roses in an 8 inch pot, and a ‘Victory’ rose (med. sized, also in 8 inch pot) both in Miracle Grow potting soil, in full sun watered daily or as needed.
The mini’s are doing great, I’ve had them for weeks now and they look even better than they did when I bought them, no questions there.
The med sized, ‘Victory’ roses, I have only had for a few days now, they were budding when i bought them and now fully bloomed for the most part. I live in southern california, so frost pruning is not necessary (during the colder months I intend to leave them outside during the day for full sun, and bring them inside at night)
My questions are, when should I prune? And how exactly should it be done?
Also any other tips you think I might need to know.
(Please understand that I am new to gardening in general so if you could explain in detailed lay-man’s terms it would be greatly appreciated.)
Thanks

Why are people so uptight when it comes to gardening?
So many people want their gardens so perfect, everything in line, and every living thing besides the plants that were planted there dead. My garden is completely the opposite. My garden is beautiful and vibrant, and a habitat for several living creatures. I have 6 Dyanthis, 3 Cana Lilies, Carrots, Tomatoes, Radishes, Queen Anne’s Lace, Morning Glories, Some sort of purple flower, peas, beans, Sunflowers, and even a single Corn Stalk! Some of those things were planted last spring, but many of them-like the tomatoes, Queen Anne’s Lace, and the plant with purple flowers just decided to live there. It’s one of my greatest joys, and I can’t understand why people slave every day so that their gardens are absolutely perfect. Plants weren’t made to be perfect. They were made to be unique. Gardens aren’t only for humans to enjoy. Why can’t many people understand that?

How can I make money off of my superior gardening ability?
I don’t have enough land to own a farm or any large scale cultivation project. My original idea was to grow bonsai trees, but a 4 year old tree goes for $20. I don’t see how anyone in the world can make any sustainable income off of that.
I can grow anything from cacti to flowers to a full blown tree (don’t have enough space for a tree).
Any ideas on how I can turn my gardening ability into a business?
