There’s an article on the internet that says grass cuttings provide all the nutrients that plants need without any other fertilizers. Is anybody experienced in growing vegetables with grass cuttings only (please state dry grass or fresh grass)?

PostHeaderIcon Why are people so uptight when it comes to gardening?

gardening
Jess asked:

So many people want their gardens so perfect, everything in line, and every living thing besides the plants that were planted there dead. My garden is completely the opposite. My garden is beautiful and vibrant, and a habitat for several living creatures. I have 6 Dyanthis, 3 Cana Lilies, Carrots, Tomatoes, Radishes, Queen Anne’s Lace, Morning Glories, Some sort of purple flower, peas, beans, Sunflowers, and even a single Corn Stalk! Some of those things were planted last spring, but many of them-like the tomatoes, Queen Anne’s Lace, and the plant with purple flowers just decided to live there. It’s one of my greatest joys, and I can’t understand why people slave every day so that their gardens are absolutely perfect. Plants weren’t made to be perfect. They were made to be unique. Gardens aren’t only for humans to enjoy. Why can’t many people understand that?

PostHeaderIcon How can I make money off of my superior gardening ability?

gardening
Josh asked:

I don’t have enough land to own a farm or any large scale cultivation project. My original idea was to grow bonsai trees, but a 4 year old tree goes for $20. I don’t see how anyone in the world can make any sustainable income off of that.

I can grow anything from cacti to flowers to a full blown tree (don’t have enough space for a tree).

Any ideas on how I can turn my gardening ability into a business?

PostHeaderIcon Coast of Maine gardening soil mixed with what for containers?

gardening
La Vie Boheme asked:

I can get my hands on several bags Coast of Maine gardening soil http://www.coastofmaine.com/soils.shtml#cobscook

Would this be good for container vegetables? What can I mix in with it to stretch it so it goes farther? Would peat moss work? If so, in what parts should I mix the 2 together?
I’m looking for a budget friendly option that I can add to the Coast of Maine soil.

PostHeaderIcon Horror movie where a slug crawls into a man’s gardening glove and he puts it on without knowing?

Drowning_Fetus asked:

SO i saw this horror movie a long time ago, probably early 90’s. All I can remember from it was that it was inside some greenhouse and this slug creature thing crawling into a mans gardening glove. Upon placing on the glove the man goes into a fit and grabs his hatchet and proceeds to chop at his hand. I have asked many people throughout life and no one seems to know.

PostHeaderIcon Should I wait for flower gardening or can I start now?

gardening
Ashley asked:

I live in TN. So, far we have had about 2 weeks of warm weather (60s & 70s) before spring even set in. Last year, our winter ended right around this time also unlike past decade where cold weather ( < 60F) would last through April. So, should I wait a little longer or can I go ahead and start my flower gardening now?

PostHeaderIcon Gardening: What is the best way to plant fresh vegetable seeds?

gardening
oysterStar asked:

I am curious, how would you plant fresh vegetable seeds.? I have been doing some mild research, and some say they need to sit in a refrigerator for about four to five weeks dry.

I have never really messed with a garden, but I would think it would be fun to try if I could across some store bought seed packets, but moreover, fresh vegetables from the store.

What’s the best trick?
